Why to Opt for Partial Dentures?

A healthy smile grabs the attention of people very fast. If you want to socialize with people then you must take proper care of your teeth, so that you do not have to feel embarrassed in a crowd, when you smile or talk to people. Yellow teeth and rotting gums, are a sign of poor hygiene which makes you very unpopular. Apart from the social aspect of life, you also have to suffer from pain and swelling in your teeth and gums if you have decaying teeth.

If you are having decaying tooth, then your dentist will advise you to extract it as soon as possible to avoid further decay of the other teeth. Many people refrain from extracting their tooth because they do not want to spoil their smile because of a missing tooth in the jaw. Partial denture fixes both the problems very wisely. Partial dentures are removable acrylic replacements for missing teeth. You can get your decaying tooth plucked out and get a partial denture fixed in its place. While your gums and teeth remain healthy you will not have to worry about spoiling your smile because of the missing tooth anymore. And moreover the partial dentures are made of the size of your replaced tooth. Hence it looks totally natural, and once you get accustomed to wearing it, you will not feel like you have had your teeth replaced.

Partial dentures are very effective and useful. One, because they can help you chew on your food easily as opposed to the problems arising due to missing teeth, while you eat. Secondly, they help you maintain proper hygiene in your mouth. If you do not wear dentures, then your gums are exposed to the food you eat, and food particles get stuck in between the gaps in your mouth. Eventually they rot and start decaying the other teeth, and also cause swelling and pain in the gums.

Partial dentures are of the following types:

  • Chrome Denture – These dentures are made from chromium alloy. They are very strong and light and are a perfect replacement for your missing tooth.
  • Acrylic Denture – Acrylic dentures are usually low on cost as they are made of plastic. They are very and sturdy, but not as much as the chrome dentures.
  • Immediate Denture – These dentures are used as immediate replacement after tooth extraction. They have their benefits of setting in easily into the gums and also very fast recovery. You will need to contact your cosmetic dentist beforehand to use immediate dentures right after your tooth extraction.

The partial dentures may last you for 10-15 years depending on the quality of denture you are buying. Apart from this you will have to visit your dentist regularly in order to get your dentures cleaned and inclined properly.
